Peace on Earth Nativity
Shop hand-painted holiday décor that gives women in Peru power over poverty.
“For 8 years, I established and ran an orphanage and school in Haiti. After the earthquake of 2010, I realized we had to do more. I believed that sustainable business was the long term solution to poverty. The belief drove me to founding Trades of Hope.”
We donate a minimum 10% of the net profits of Trades of Hope through our Gifts of Hope program. This gives all manner of helpful humanitarian gifts around the world, including trauma counseling, sewing machines and lessons, sustainable gardens, income producing animals, and multiple educational opportunities in India, Kenya, Thailand, Guatemala, and Haiti.
Trades of Hope works locally with our ARC partners, men and women who have limited job opportunities due to developmental disabilities, to help tag our products.
After seeing the shortcomings of charity, I love creating jobs so more women can take care of their children and thrive themselves. I feel so grateful for this movement and the hope we've inspired.
Before, I was struggling. Now I am jewelry designer. Now I am able to help my daughter achieve her dreams of becoming a doctor.
As a former teacher, I love that I am still educating people on the importance of the choices they make to support communities globally and locally. It is a joy knowing my efforts, no matter how big or small, make a difference.
I was led to Trades of Hope through a simple prayer, "Use me to serve others with my skills and experience in the fashion industry." It is not about the P&L, it is about the hope and lives we impact.
I started Trades of Hope to fight for justice for my sisters around the world. I believe the privilege I was born into makes it my responsibility to act after learning about the hardships women face every day.
I touch every piece of jewelry that we sell. I am proud of every piece that ships from Kenya.
Starting Trades of Hope has been so meaningful as a mother and daughter team. We love knowing that we are helping other strong mommas raise their kiddos and empowering people to be all God created them to be!
After successfully battling cancer, I realized life is short. I wanted to do something that gave back with meaning. After attending the Vision Trip in Haiti, I realized this opportunity was so much more.
I was forever changed when a father handed me his son that he was leaving at the orphanage because he could not care for him. Now, our work helps keep these families together.
It’s an honor to partner with Artisans around the globe, as well as Partners in the U.S. Trades of Hope has given me the opportunity to be empowered and surrounded by an uplifting sisterhood and have an income for my family!
Working in an Artisan group has helped me see my capacity and the capacity of others. I am more independent economically, and I can help others do the same.
Our lives are changing because of what you do. Thank you.
